- SARRIJN (India)Fabrics formerly made in Bengal from yarn spun from the fibres of the Herba Bengalas, a native plant of Bengal (see Herba Bengal as) in the 17th century. They were more valuable than silk fabrics and much esteemed. Used for making doublets and men's breeches. When washed the garments were as new.
